SUMMARY:Peadar Connor 'Debut' Concert
DESCRIPTION:Peadar Connor is a 22 year old multi-instrumentalist and composer who’s work is primarily rooted in traditional Irish folk. Equally as inspired by traditional figures like John McSherry as he is art pop\, electronic and classical such as Bjork and Ryuichi Sakamoto\, he aims to fuse non-traditional harmony\, modes and textures with traditional form. With compositions that blur the line between the traditional and beyond\, his music is as ethereal and atmospheric as it is driving and groove-focused\, blending fragility with forward motion. Through fiddle\, clarinet\, whistles and electronics he creates a vision of traditional Irish folk that feels simultaneously grounded in the tradition and otherworldly\, past genre conventions. \nAfter graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a bachelor’s degree in music performance\, he launched his first EP “Debut” at The Duncairn in October 2025. Joined by two fantastic musicians\, Phil Acheson (Le Chéile) and Sean Turner (Lír)\, he brings the music of “Debut” and more to the Old Church Centre\, Cushendun. \nListen to “Debut” here: https://linktr.ee/peadar.connor \nTickets £10 \nBYOB

SUMMARY:Connor McCann & The Heroine Choir
DESCRIPTION:Hailing from the heart of Belfast’s session-culture\, Connor McCann & The Heroine Choir bring together raw rock soul\, shimmering folk harmonies and haunting storytelling. \nAt the centre is Glenravel-born songwriter and front-man Connor McCann.  Connor McCann & The Heroine Choir are more than a band—they’re a gathering of voices and stories\, where rock meets Irish folklore\, and where harmonies aren’t just an adornment but the very backbone of the sound. Whether you’re drawn by storytelling\, lush arrangements or raw vocal power\, this is a band to watch. \nWith Connor’s rock-tinged roots and a band that thrives on unison voices and lush instrumentation\, the group defines their sound as “a reformed rock musician turned folk singer\, who found a band of incredibly talented harmony singers.” HOME \nTheir latest release\, “Banshee”\, draws on Irish folklore—haunted houses\, fairies\, banshees—melding mythology with modern folk-horror. HOME \nReviews \n\n\n\nThey’ve seamlessly bridged alt-rock energy and folk intimacy—Connor’s previous life in Stonemasons colours the work\, yet this project feels fresh\, evolving and unafraid.Soxo Radio\nThe band lifted off in the vital live scene of Belfast—rooted in session culture\, born in bar harmonies—and carry that authenticity into every performance.HOME\n\n\n\n  \nTickets £12.50  \nDoors open 8pm; Gig 8.30pm to 10.30pm  \nBYOB \n \n

SUMMARY:Mrs Claus Tells Great Big Stories!
DESCRIPTION:JAK-IN-THE-BOX POP-UP THEATRE presents an interactive Christmas treat for children (and grown-ups) of all ages written and directed by Julie Kinsella \nMrs Claus is settling down with a nice cup of tea and a Jammie Dodger to read her favourite Panto Stories. Join her in Santa’s Cottage as she shares the tales of Red Riding Hood and Snow White. And isn’t it funny that when Mrs Claus reads her stories some of the characters magically come to life – right there in front of your eyes! \nJust as Mrs Claus finishes her stories\, Santa arrives home and tells us all about his day in the workshop with the elves. But Santa is very tired from his busy day and keeps getting his words muxed-ip so he may need a bit of help from the audience to tell his stories. \nWe finish with a Christmas singalong and Santa and Mrs Claus wish their guests a “Merry Christmas”. \nTickets £5 adults and children

SUMMARY:Sounds of the Blue Book
DESCRIPTION:In 1910\, Irish humanitarian Roger Casement journeyed to the Amazon rainforest of Peru to investigate horrific atrocities committed against Indigenous communities by the rubber industry. His report – now known as The Blue Book – became a pivotal document in the history of human rights. Over a century later\, Peruvian-Irish composer and guitarist Rodrigo Almonte brings Casement’s powerful testimony to life in Sounds of the Blue Book – a striking new suite of music that blends jazz\, improvisation\, and traditional Irish and Peruvian sounds into a moving and richly textured performance.  \nJoined by acclaimed pianist Lorenzo Vitolo and drummer Matthew Jacobson\, Almonte’s trio weaves historical narrative with emotive soundscapes that transport audiences through the Amazonian jungle\, Indigenous rhythms\, and echoes of a forgotten past.   \nDeveloped with the support of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Arts Office and Music Network\, Sounds of the Blue Book is a bold and imaginative musical work. Blending historical depth with contemporary artistry\, the trio crafts a performance that resonates both emotionally and intellectually\, bridging cultures\, timelines\, and traditions through music.  \nTickets £15
