The main premise of this project is to breathe new life in to some classic songs from the New American songbook by adding their own unique Jazz interpretation of songs from the like of Paul Simon\, Leonard Cohen\, Massive Attack\, Nick Cave and Lou Reed. The Sazeracs have a unique approach to the material they play\, with melodic referencing and intricate arrangements making this one of the more popular festival bands around.  \nKyron Bourke is vocalist\, pianist\, bass player and songwriter. His voice and style of delivery have been compared to Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits and his enigmatic charm and passion for performing are infectious and the driving force for the whole concept.  \nDr. Linley Hamilton is a staple in the Northern Ireland Jazz scene\, boasting a long and eclectic career. He’s played with Northern Ireland’s finest including Van Morrison\, Paul Brady\, Foy Vance and Dana Masters. When he’s not playing trumpet\, you can tune in to his BBC Radio Ulster show ‘Jazz World with Linley Hamilton’ and is curator of Magy’s Farm. Linley recently received an MBE for services to music.  \n Andrew Lavery is the drummer\, and the beating heart of our rhythm section. He has had a long and varied career playing jazz drums with an eclectic mix of performers and groups. He is a listener who has found a way of providing grooves that tie the music together dynamically as well as cementing the narrative of the melody instruments.  \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Planting in Unusual Containers
DESCRIPTION:Explore unusual garden planters from mugs to buckets to boxes under the expert guidance of Don Kerr. \nFeel free to bring along some containers if you like (nothing too big) so we can explore ideas of what to plant in them.  \nOriginally from the Coleraine area\, Don Kerr was inspired by a Great Aunt who loved her garden. A career in Horticulture followed after college in Scotland landed him his first job as Head Gardener at a rather grand castle in Aberdeen. There were a number of jobs and locations before NI called him back 11 years ago to become Head Gardener at the Downhill Estate. \nNow retired\, Don is working on his own garden. He is Chairperson of the Roe Valley Gardening Society and a committee member of the Alpine Society. \nHe may also have some plants for sale on the day!
