Declare your love with an exclusive intimate wedding in the beautiful village of Cushendun

Cushendun village lies at the mouth of the River Dun, nestled in the spectacular Glens of Antrim, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Recognised for its unique architectural heritage, Cushendun has been protected by the National Trust since 1954 as a conservation village.

This Grade B listed former church has been sympathetically renovated to meet the needs of 21st Century users while maintaining the integrity and ambience of its 19th Century origin.

The Old Church Centre is a charming, atmospheric building, set in an idyllic location close to the beach, ancient caves and the village centre.

It’s your day, your way. If you’d simply like to hire the church we provide seating, a ceremony table and audio system for music and readings.

The Old Church Centre is fully licensed to hold civil and religious marriage ceremonies, with seating for up to 80 guests. With free wi-fi provided, your wedding ceremony can be streamed to family and friends across the world.

 

 Just along the coast from Dunluce Castle you’ll find the Old Church Centre in Cushendun – a tiny, picturesque gem of a village sitting beside the sea, nestled within the spectacular Glens of Antrim.

Our beautifully-restored Church of Ireland building is now a unique, magical place to hold your elopement ceremony.

Your ceremony can take place on any day of the week, at any time of day. We provide simple decorations, a ceremony table and you are very welcome to bring bubbles to celebrate your marriage. We can put you in touch with local celebrants who will officiate at your ceremony.

After your ceremony you may like to take a stroll along the beach to visit our “Game of Thrones” caves and round off your day with a glass of Guinness at Mary McBride’s traditional Irish pub or enjoy a meal in its award-winning Little Black Door restaurant.

There are many cosy holiday cottages in Cushendun, all within minutes of the church … just in case you want to stay for a day or two to sample village life, make friends and create memories to last a lifetime.

PERFECT SETTING FOR OUR WEDDING

when I was younger I used to walk down the lane to the beach passing this picturesque building. The character and situation of this idyllic church near the beach in Cushendun in my eyes was perfect. So when I was asked to get married my first response apart from “Yes” was I want to get married in this church. After booking the church we were able to organise everything in it the way we wanted from the layout, music, and flowers etc. This place made myself, my husband and all our guests feel that we were the only people in the world and the photographer got some fantastic memories of the day at the church and the beach.

Unique secluded wedding venue

We had an amazing day at the old church, the team there were very supportive and let me use the venue as I wished and were flexible anough to have the day I wanted. I was also able to include my dog in the wedding, she was very excited to be there! The location is stunning and just a 2min walk away from the beautiful beach were we had some of our photos taken! Would absolutely recommend this sweet little venue!
