We’ve had a busy month and extend our thanks to everyone who joined us over the past few weeks. It was great to pack the Old Church Centre to hear about Dr Margaret Ward’s book, for Professor Phil Scraton with Bernadette McAliskey on IWD and for the Shared Music event last weekend. The video montage we comissioned to introduce the Bernadette McAliskey event is now available to watch on our website here.
Looking ahead, the Pop up Tea Shop will be back with a host of home-baked treats on Sunday 30 March for Mothers Day and again on Easter Monday, 21 April. The next Whist Drive is at 7.30pm Tuesday 1 April. This month we have something a little different for the Tuesday Get Together at 12.30pm 8 April. After lunch Stephen O’Hara will be facilitating a reminiscence session so we hope plenty of you will come along to share your memories. You will also be the first to enjoy our exhibition of the Malachy McSparran Collection of historic photographs of Cushendun.
On Saturday 12 April we invite you to explore Planting in Unusual Containers with Don Kerr, formerly Head Gardner at the Downhill Estate, in an interactive workshop 10am to 12noon.
We’re delighted to give you advance notice of a couple of events for the Big Arts Weekend. Friday 2 May sees Linley Hamilton and the Sazeracs back in Cushendun and on Sunday 4 May we look forward to the Glenlough Community Choir together with Harpist Gráinne Meyer. Tickets for both are now live via the button below.
We have much more in store and will be in touch next month as soon as the full Big Arts Weekend programme is published.
