Local facilitator, Raymond Watson, has held workshops with both local primary schools, St. Ciaran’s and Glenann, where children have designed their very own bunting. This project was inspired by a project called ‘Flags of Hope’ which in 2010 made a Guinness World Record. That project aimed to create 10,000 individually created art flags. This was achieved and the single line of ‘art flags’ was flown along the Falls and Shankill peace wall, a significant site of division. While we may not have 10,000 art flags, we do have a fabulous display of artwork that captures the thoughts and imaginations of our local children in 2023.
